Happy February everyone, you know what that means right? V-DAY! You know it is approaching fast because perfurme, chocolate, and flower commercials are flooding the media. Not to mention the Fifty Shades Of Grey trailer is on TV every 15 minutes. Time to start feeling lovey dovey! So I am listening to Nina Simone's version of The Look Of Love to get in the mood.
PFFT!!! HA! I couldn't even say that with a straight face. I hate V-Day. See, my birthday is a day before V-Day, which is the second worst holiday to be born on or near (first being Christmas). For a decade I would get flowers, chocolate, or some cheesy Hallmark card from boyfriends of V-Day past as a dual present. I have grown a serious hatred towards V-Day.
However, my hatred does not prevent me from spreading any cheer. I know I'm among a small percentage of women that do not enjoy V-Day. Plus, I do really enjoy all of the annual trends that come with V-Day such as heart nail art, red lips, and glamorous waves. So I will cover all of those during this month leading up to that special day. Let's get started with nails.
CSB: Every Monday I spend cleaning. Takes me about 3-4 hours to de-funk the man/boy smell out of the house. Men are gross, young boys should be considered biohazard. The fumes that come out of my son's room are...ugh, sorry, I'm getting off topic. Anyway, by the end of the day my hands are ruined, it's time to give myself a manicure. I do not go to the nail salon because between the driving, sitting, and drying it takes almost 2 hours to do something I could get done myself with a bonus of not even getting out of my sweat pants. I'm no pro, but I'm no novice either. Check it out

On my thumb, pointer, and pinky nail I used Ulta's Smoke Screen. On my middle finger I used Ulta's High Roller. For my ring finger I used two coats of Revlon's Linen Fresh from their Parfumerie collection with two coats of Ulta's Diva and Smoke Screen for the heart. I dipped a toothpick into the Smoke Screen and drew a free hand heart, it only took one coat. I always start off with Gelous Nail Gel and finish with Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat.
Against my medium/deep skin tone it is not too soft nor too dark so give it a try and tell me what you think. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Until next time amigas, adios!
