DIY Hair Perfume
Remember back in the late 90's or early 00's, I believe, L'Oreal came out with hair perfume that ultimately crashed and burned? The commercial featured this beautiful woman walking through an Urban jungle, her locks coming in contact with all sorts of bad smells that made her cringe when she got home? All she had to do was spray a little bit of Studio Senses Hair Refresher Spray on her strands and her man was unable to resist her? If you were like me, then you rushed out to grab some because a) the only available dry shampoos didn't smell THAT great and b) who didn't want hair perfume? Only to find out it was the worst smelling stuff ever. The Cool Scent smelled like an open 10 year old bottle of Aqua Velva and the Warm Scent smelled like cigar smoke in a spray bottle. No wonder it crased and burned.
However, it caused a demand for hair perfume and since then women have been spraying their locks with their favorite perfume. Though the market hasn't grown much since L'Oreal's fiasco, it is wicked easy to make your own.
DIY Hair Spray
2 oz Empty Spray Bottle
.5 oz Perfume (Screw Off Top)
.5 oz Hair Spray*
1 oz Water
Combine all of the ingredients in the Spray Bottle, give it a good shake to combine, and spritz on styled hair. If you're going to add Hair Spray then make sure you use a non aerosol can and also Hair Spray with alcohol in it. This will hold the perfume longer so it will not turn as quickly. Also it will add a bit of hold to your finishd style.
Depending on the quality of the perfume that you use this could last over a month. I used Candies perfume because my nozzle broke and I'm way too clumsy to just dab it onto my skin (did you know that the scent of perfume can last in clothes way after three washes). I hope this works as well for you as it did for me. Let me know! Until next time amigas, adios!
