COTW: Watermelonade Soda
Ahh Kool-Aid, is there any flavor you can't create? You spread tasty cheer of Green Apples, Mangos, and Cherries to children and adults alike. They're even spreading the joy of Watermelon now. Can you believe that?! Tornado wouldn't stop jumping up and down when he saw Watermelon flavored Kool-Aid on the shelf at our grocery store. He was so excited. I was too but for a different reason, they were on sale. It was time to stock up on Kool-Aid.
When we got home we immediately mixed up a batch of the Watermelon and started drinking. Delicious, but it needed that special something.
Watermelonade Soda
1 packet Watermelon Kool-Aid
1/2 cup Country Time Lemonade Mix
Water
2 l Drink Container
Lime Slices
Soda Water
1.5 oz Tequila (optional)
Mix the Watermelon, Lemonade, and Water together in the drink container. Fill a tall glass with ice, adding the Lime Slices half way through filling. Fill the glass 3/4 full with the drink mix then top off with Soda Water. If you'd like to make it an adult drink then add the Tequila before adding the drink mix then follow the rest as described.
This really punched it up and made it a great "sitting on the porch, relaxing in the warm Spring air" no alco drink. The added tequila brings out the flavor of the limes and gave it a nice tang. Bottoms up amigas! Until next time, adios!
